The further we went up we found the six RV accessible free camping were full as well so we decided to go back down the mountain but decided to make a few stops to enjoy the perfect sunset. We ended up sleeping the the Walmart in Durango.

San Juan Forest Above Durango, CO
We finished our 6 day visit at Heron Lake and we were ready to made our way to Colorado. Our first stop was Pagosa Springs. We went through town and headed on to Durango. It was a busy place, with kayaks and the outfitters that were busy navigating the river.We found dispersed campsite on freecamping.net and headed out of town to find Barnes Mountain. We passed Junction Creek campground which was full and kept going to find more campsites. We begin a journey on a gravel road and made our way through a lot of s curves. We quickly increased in elevation and the views over Durango were fabulous.
