What a FREE Camping Site in CO!

As we climbed the pass from Durango towards  Silverton we came to Molas Lake Campground. This was where we camped the last time we were here. The campground is wonderful and managed by the City if Silverton, but at $30/night we decided to keep driving. Luckily Norma was alert and noticed a 14-day free camping sign about a mile down the road. I disconnected the jeep and went on an exploration to find a spot. Oh what a spot I found at 10,640 ft elevation! The area offered a meadow between several mountain areas. It offered a field of wildflowers and areas to explore with Mia.
Oh, and a rambling stream to help us sleep!

We found the forest was full of downed timber. All that was needed was to cut it up into firewood.
